Yes, when used correctly and according to the instructions. The nozzle becomes hot while the pen is in use, so it should never be touched directly. Finger guards are included to help protect little hands while they're creating.

Absolutely. Your child doesn't need any 3D drawing experience. Simply power the pen, load the filament and start by tracing one of the included designs. Once they've got the hang of it, they can start creating their own shapes, models and ideas.

Your kit includes the 3D Pen, protective carry case, finger guards, stencil designs and colourful PLA filament, so your child has what they need to start creating straight out of the box.

No batteries are required. The pen is USB powered, so simply connect it to a suitable power source and let it heat up before loading the filament and starting your creation.

The pen uses 1.75mm PLA filament. PLA is easy to work with, cools quickly and is ideal for 3D Pen projects. Additional compatible PLA filament can also be purchased separately when you need a refill.

It depends on what your child creates. Smaller drawings and simple shapes use much less filament than larger 3D models. The included 50M filament pack gives them plenty to start learning, experimenting and making their first creations. Extra filament is available if they become a serious little creator!

Don't worry — a blockage can usually be fixed quite easily. Stop feeding the filament, allow the pen to reach the correct temperature and carefully unload and reload the filament according to the instructions. Always make sure the end of the filament is cut cleanly before inserting it.

Of course! This is actually one of our favourite ways to use them. Choose different colours for siblings, friends or grandchildren so everyone can create their own designs without fighting over one pen. They're also a great birthday or Christmas gift for creative kids.
